In the fall of 2020, Matt Cortez asked Melissa Hernandez to help record a cover of "We Belong Together," sparking the beginning of Synergy Music Studio. Since then, they've worked to build the studio while keeping its DIY vibe alive.

Their goal is to create a welcoming space where artists can freely express themselves and produce their best work.

Matt Cortez has been immersed in music for over 15 years, drawing inspiration from The Beatles, Motown, and modern indie music. His versatility and passion infuse a creative spark that artists appreciate in the studio.

Currently, he plays bass for the Chicago indie-alt band "Cutest Nuisance" and engages in various projects throughout the city. Matt's goal is to bring out the best in others, whether it's in the studio, on stage, or in everyday life.

Melissa Hernandez

Melissa Hernandez has been deeply involved in music for 14 years, starting with the guitar at age 11 and expanding her expertise to include a variety of instruments. Her broad musical palette naturally influences her approach within the studio environment.

As a teenager, Melissa discovered a passion for music production while experimenting with FL Studio to record guitar ideas. Since then, she has dedicated herself to perfecting her engineering skills, striving to enhance the quality of every song she works on.
